What are the differences between Fitness and Bodybuilding? Is bodybuilding the same as Fitness? They are compatible? Today we are going to answer these questions!
We have already seen what Fitness is and what Bodybuilding is (or Bodybuilding), but sometimes, these two terms are often misinterpreted or confused between the two.
If you read these articles, you already know, or if you have been training and reading on your own for some time, it is almost certain that you also know, but if you are just starting out in the world of muscle training it may not be entirely clear what the difference between fitness and bodybuilding.
There is a great difference between the two, but at the same time many coincidences, with this article I hope to make the matter clear so that people do not continue to think that one is better than the other, but that each one has a different objective.
In case you did not read the previous article, there we define that Fitness means being in shape, feeling healthy and looking healthy.
It is not just about good looks; you could even say that it is a state of mind.
Not everyone who goes through a physical prep workout necessarily does it to look like the Hulk.
And in this sense, we can see that most Fitness bodies are athletic, but even so, these people remain muscular and strong.
Bodybuilding or bodybuilding is a slightly more extreme sport, it is practically a profession, with the sole objective of developing the maximum muscle mass that our body can, even beyond the health benefits that this discipline obviously has.
All of this involves extensive weight training and a high increase in protein intake.
And at competitive levels, periods of massive dehydration and use of countless supplements and substances of which some can be unhealthy (sometimes steroids are often taken as a necessity unfortunately).
However, practicing bodybuilding under “natural” conditions or with the consumption of supplements, but outside of the previous point related to steroids, does not necessarily have to stop being healthy.
To make a mini summary we can say that if you want to achieve a fitness body, you can train with weights or any other type of discipline that trains your body against a load, train with weights in the gym, do CrossFit, calisthenics, even cycling or running, if you exercise with your own body.
Now to be a bodybuilder the only way to achieve this is with a weight training in the gym where the principle of overload is applied in all its splendor.
Cultural and fitness training
My advice is that you don’t try to use bodybuilding training routines when your goal is simply to get in shape.
Keep in mind that all the photos you see in the bodybuilding magazines are not entirely true, these athletes usually look like this only a couple of times a year, just a short time before competition time.
The rest of the year and their life, they look more “bloated” or less defined (with a higher proportion of body fat).
Everything depends on your goals
I repeat it again, if your goal is not to achieve huge and overdeveloped muscles like those of bodybuilders, train specifically for your goals more associated with Fitness, which does not mean that you do not develop muscle with this eh.
Now, if you are passionate about the world of bodybuilding, keep in mind that you will have to dedicate a lot of time, money and effort to this discipline; And never stop training smart and healthy either, that rule applies to both workouts.
Regardless of the type of discipline that you were to carry out, here in Total Bodybuilding you will be able to find many tips and articles of interest to fulfill whatever your objective is.
